Pollen feeder
« on: November 13, 2020, 12:56:57 pm »
Hung these up yesterday about 20 yards behind my hives. Bottle of 1:1 was just to serve as an attractant to get them near the pollen. They are not touching the syrup, but its non stop on the pollen. I would imagine that any natural pollen was washed out from storm Eta. First picture was yesterday, second is today.

RAST, you read my mind.  I was thinking a few days ago that those plastic rain spouts would be good for feeding pollen.  Wind or a breeze is an everyday thing here.  I never thought about hanging it though.  My plan was for the spring though, but I understand why you are feeding now.

Good idea for sure.
What kind of pollen are you feeding?
Our winter is t coming on and don't need any brood rearing just yet.

Hi G3, it's Ultra Bee. Really just playing around and trying to maintain, never broodless here. No telling this year but in a month and a half the red maple use to start budding here.
