That's what I thought was to be a bearding. Was a dead out Queen, I guess cause lots of bee's in hive today,
No Queen- no capped brood.  Was wondering if bee's absconded. But don't think so. Had capped brood 2 week's ago. I've never just loss a Q. That quick.
If ya look at pic I'm wondering if she's in ball down low at cinder block?

It started storming 10 mins. Later. Thought bee went in to hive.
