re arriving....
« on: April 07, 2020, 07:28:35 pm »
Hey guys!!!!  Sorry I have been MIA.. a lot has been going on.. and a lot is STILL going on... but starting to get some time to breathe again....   Family losses, buildings being exploded by storms, putting up new buildings.. wife coming back to Iowa and buying a house I had to remodel over the winter, etc, etc, etc..  OH, and mother in law is about to arrive here to stay.. thats another story....  the GOOD news... today I went though hives for the first time in nearly two years....  I have four hives alive and kicking here in my home yard... I still have to go check outyards...  I will be honest, with the mites, wax moths and hive beetles I didnt expect to have any bees at all left...  So I am happy I have a point to rebuild from...  One noteworthy thing is... all four hives are progeny of Waynes bees... Interesting fact for youall...
I am not sure whats about to happen when Motehr in law arrives. I may end up spending a lot of time helping my wife manage her.. if thats the case, i wont have much spare time again... if she can manage to deal with THINGS while wife is at work, then I can spend more time here and get caught up with my website and the bees, and even MAYBE finish the new building...   I hope you all have great winter survival and that you stay covid-19 free!   Scott

Great to hear from you, Scott. :) Those four hives would make a great foundation to build upon.

Yeah Neil, that my entire plan, to use what I have to get going again.  Got cold here again, but should be in the 50's next week... hope to check the outyards then... crossing fingers I have a couple more hives out there still kicking...   Seems very quiet in here these days?   (Waves at Bakers)

Just curious if there were any left in the outyard?

I still don't know. Mother in law arrived, and the lawn in Iowa hasnt been mowed in nearly two months, much less anything else being done. Nothing i can even do to fix the situation..   just when things were starting to look up...  LIFE happens, and, I no longer have time to even log into the forums, much less look at bees or mow the lawn...   :'(

Slowly getting a schedule set up, but its not easy finding a caregiver during the days so i can get back here and deal with the house, lawn, bees etc. with Covid running rampant. As time passes I have hope it will all get better...  The lawn/hay field is cut. It only took me 4 days of mowing.. with the BIG bushhog on the 1086, the little bushhog on the fegusun, and then the lawn mower....   HOPE to get into my hives tomorrow and see how they are doing!

Naw... No longer had the time.. AND, wife had a couple vertebrae in her neck fused. Doc said all it would take was getting bucked off once...   Took the lesson from Dale Sr...  and was forcibly forced to let my horses go to a new home...  I miss my horse...    :'(
