It was my turn to cook dinner last nite (wife was feeling bad due to MS) so like a good hubby I went to KFC and placed an order. While waiting I picked up a packet of honey (they call it Honey Spread) and read the list of ingredients. OMG are you ready for this.....High Fructrose Corn Syrup, Corn Syrup, Sugar, Honey, Fructose, less than 2% caramel color, Molasses, Water, Citric Acid, Natural and Artifical Flavor and Malic Acid.
Took several packets home to keep with the store bought honey that states that it is a blend of honey "possibly" from the following countries (WHAT THEY DON"T EVEN KNOW WHERE IT CAME FORM FOR SURE) that I show to customers that say I charge to much and they can buy it cheaper. Jim

Yep that is why some states , like Vermont for one, made McDonald's stop selling maple flavored syrup.... They have to sell the real thing.
Sadly in other states we get crap instead.

Yes Bsweet, I've known that for quite some time. Disgusting isn't it?!?!
And, if you go to your local coffee barista and ask for honey in your tea... same thing. Gross!

For the longest while up here in the big markets it used to say "A blend of Canadian and Argentinian honey". Not so much anymore.

Any golden liquid you see in the little packets... Not Honey. Any golden liquid you see in the little Sue Bee honey bear containers in the restaurants... Not Honey. If your in a chain grocery store and you see honey on the shelf that states Raw Local Honey... IT'S HONEY !! Yeaaaay!.... if you see honey standing next to the real honey and it considerabley cheaper... Not Honey. It's cut with corn syrup. Nasty! Yuk!

Guess thats what I get for having and using the real stuff from my own hives. I knew about store honey but never really thought about the little packets. Jim

It's okay Jim... I had to learn it too. :) 8)

Same here, cafe/truck stop just down the road bought honey from me last year (40 lbs.) and have told me they want at least 80 lbs this year. Gotta love it. Jim
