Title: Unfortunate Sting Location
Post by: Garden Hive on March 15, 2014, 04:26:40 pm
Got this one yetserday. Thought well they are very busy. They wont care that I look a little. Used smoke and had closed things up and then went back out to stand and watch the porches for awhile.
Was standing between a couple and to the rear.
The one that got me was like you hear about a sniper bullet. "Don't hear the one that gets ya" ! Well she came on a direct path...right under the lower eye lid. 24 hrs later, I can at least see through the slit.

I've been popped in the face a couple of times, several at the same time. nothing pleasant about it at all, but didn't swell like that.

Awwwe Geez! Bummer! I do the same thing... don't alway veil up. Just last week I got it AGAIN inside the nostril. Tears for about an hour. But I don't swell cause I let a bee sting me once a week. Sorry Garden :(

Was just about to sit down with a cup of coffee in the cafeteria here at the palatial head office of Worldwide Beekeeping, when I received a text message from none other than Chef Unknown!
He was made aware of member Garden Hive's plight, and in order to help ease his pain, he quickly whipped up this little delight.
While perhaps it doesn't directly help ease the pain, it would certainly distract one enough that maybe it would be just a bit more tolerable.  ;)
For posting the pic......

Umm, Perry, I don't want to complain, but that little sweet desire looks a lot better than the one that the good chef made me a few days ago when I took one in the lower lip. That's okay though. He probably already knew that I needed to lose a few pounds.  ;)

Bee very careful what you say here, the Chef regularly reads these posts!  :o
If you think I'm kidding, his friendly brother used to appear on Seinfeld (remember him)?  ;)

Beautiful those are the ones that make for fond memories once the pain, itching and swelling have gone down. Thanks for sharing your pain.

I always wear jeans and barn boots when working with hives.  I have a tendency to use my knees and it is a common sting site for me.  The sting is like a quick shot, it is the dang swelling and worst-the itching! Oh the itching, itching, itching, itching!

I've been right there with ya, Garden!  Caught one above the left eye brow a couple of years ago and my eye swelled slam shut for two days.

Perry's cooking skills seem to have improved since then, though.  Don't recall my pie looking quite THAT tasty . . .

See! I don't swell anymore! So I couldn't prove to Perry that I took a sting in the face. Unless of course I take a picture of the stinger! Bingo!  ;)

My skills haven't changed at all.  ;)

"Just to clarify things here, I am merely repeating the gracious words of our co-worker Chef Unknown! Please don't confuse us for one other!
He is one of those temperamental sorts (think Iddee), doesn't like the limelight, works best on his own, avoids large groups, curmudgeonly type."

By Monday evening, all the swelling had gone. Folks at work talked smack all day.....
Sure got some strange looks during the time frame. Some I just looked at and shrugged. Others got a lot of fun out of the possibilities of "How".
Some just shake their heads and say, not again.
Oh...what we go through for our hobbies.

Well, when they are talking about you, they are giving others a break.  Glad you can see with both eyes now.  Depth perception works better that way.
