Man I bought 2 Double Nucs and all the frames and after I built both Nucs and supers I went to start the frame and they sent me all Medium End Bars instead of Deeps.... Grrrr! :o I can't finish them :'(
-
Bummer, did you call the company and are they going to make quick work of fixing that error?
-
Sent them an email...it was after they were closed cause I was at the Southeastern Beekeeping Association Conference all day today...So they probably won't even see it til Monday morning...
-
This sort of things occurs from time to time. At least it didn't happen when you were in dire straits needing them yesterday like usually happens. :-\
-
Very true Perry...Very true! 8)
-
It's one of those things that happen. I think it's called life. Still, I understand your venting because when you put a plan together you expect it to happen.
-
Really I wasn't too upset but when I start something I like to finish it... :-\
I can paint them today still at least... here they are...

Those are sharp! Well done!
-
Very nice. Your a much better painter than I am. I use to be fair before I started painting bee boxes. Runs, drips and plenty errors.
BTW, do those make four frame nucs or five?
-
I believe 4 frame Nucs but without having built the frames yet I am not 100%.
The right size end bars are on the way too! Really impressed with Betterbees Quick service and delivery!
-
Do they take a standard Hive tele cover?
Those look like the ones Michael Palmer uses.. I think I will build a couple and compare then to my 5 frame nucs this winter.. As I understand it, the bees will cluster against the divider between the two nuc's, and it will help them come through the winter..
-

Only 4 frames with an extra 3/4" over what is needed for the bee space. the extra room is good for removing frame with out rolling bees and to allow extra space to for queen cells or queen cages. but they will also build some bur comb in the extra space also.
-
Yes they are 4 frame Nucs and a Normal 10 Frame Telescoping Cover fits on top.
We'll see how they work out this year and in the 2014 Betterbee catalog they mention Mike Palmer on the page by the nucs.
I've done a lot of research the last few Months and am on my way to never having to buy bees again and expanding as much as I want every year or selling Nucs to local beekeepers with Surviving Stock and still having a good honey harvest! ;)

Sounds like the same path I am on. It has taken a while for the plans to begin to coalesce into something that might be workable. The next two or three years will be rough building up. I hope, after that, the sailing will smooth out a little.
Keep posting your secrets, I'll post my mistakes. Maybe we can figure out the best path to follow!

Sounds like a Plan Lazy!
