Title: Change up your meatloaf
Post by: Bsweet on March 28, 2014, 11:03:57 pm
Have had meatloaf with stale bread, crutons or oats as part of the recipe. Got a wild hair a few months back and used stove top stuffing as the bread/oats part of the recipe and WOW, have not had bad luck with any of the flavors. Give it a try, hope you like it. Jim

I love meatloaf! but my son can't acquire a taste for it, even tho he was raised on it. He calls it meat cake  :D  and says there's just something wrong with squising eggs and milk into meat and baking it  :D

I'm gonna try your idea as well ~

Good idea.  So, I can't remember, is the breading in stove top separate from the seasoning?  If so, do you chuck the seasoning?

Hey BB its all in one package, just shake it well. The wife crushes the breading smaller but it can be used as it comes . Jim

I haven't put stove top in meatloaf, but in a pinch, I did use the dried bread for making bread crumbs.  A few seconds in a food processor did the trick.
