Is a 1/4" crown staple wide enough to assemble frames? Or do you need to go with 3/8? And what length staples do I need to use? Thanks for any info you can provide.

I would say the 1/4 would work just fine. I use brads and glue. Staples should be capable of better holding power. Less pull through.

I use 1/4" crown staples (with Titebond III glue)
1-1/4" for the top bar (1)
1" for the bottom bar (1)
1" in through the end bars into the top bar.
I haven't had one fail yet!

Thanks Perry! I wanted to get the right one first.

Jack, you gotta get your eyes checked buddy. The hair is gray but the beard is black and white!

I do what Perry does as well.

This has got to be a first, everyone agrees! ;D

I'm to lazy to change guns or staples so I use 1 1/8" on every thing. The same length I use when assembling kitchen cabinets. A 1 1/4" staple in the shop will come thru and screw up a cabinet so only boxes buy 1 1/8"
