It's raining and very windy, can't get into my hives to de-queen them until tonight. I guess I'll have to bring them, one at a time, into the warm garage tonight so I can find the queens and any queen/swarm cells.
Don't yell at me for not doing this before the arrival of the new queens. Some of the instructions I read said don't prepare your hives until the new queens arrive ;) 8)

the reason you can't de-queen ahead of time is because if they are queenless for more than 24 hours they will build their own queen cells and reject the new queen.
