Had a double deep dead out and was going to take one box and set up as a swarm trap and keep the other to use for a split Had the two boxs seperated and set up as singles and ready to go, one in the back of my truck and the other setting in my backyard. Was mowing the yard today and when I got near the back corner I noticed quite afew bees fussing around my spare deep...... went over to look and would'nt you know it a swarm had moved in, at least thats the way it looks as they where dragging out bits of trash and dead bodies and doing some general cleaning. Didn't open the hive for a peek but will watch it for a few days and then go in. It seems that my swarm trap may have worked just not WHEN,WHERE or HOW I planed it, but I'll take it. Jim

heh.. dang the luck!!
Anything left in it to rob out?? just wondering i its robbers, though robbers usually make a mess rather than clean it up..
About a week or two swarm season will be ramping up here. Looking forward to it!

Pretty sure my yard hives cleaned it out acouple of weeks ago and when I checked the deadout there was only a small amount of pollen so I don't think its robbing, these girls are cleaning out trash and bodies and hanging out in the upper and lower entrances. Jim

As of last Saterday the two hives in my yard did not have queen cells so they(if its a swarm) are not from my hives. So ya FREE BEES Jim
