Hi every body,
Have anyone already heard a queen singing as in this video (http://youtu.be/0i57S1QNAmk (http://youtu.be/0i57S1QNAmk))?
I took this video two days ago for one of my newly emerged virgin queens.

Its called Piping. It happens when there are more than one queen or queens in cells that are ready top emerge. JP has a video of at least 3 in an attic cut out It is a cool sound to experience.

It's pretty cool to hear. The first time I ever heard it I had only heard about it but knew exactly what it was.
Opened a hive a couple weeks back and had a brand new virgin stumbling around. When she would pipe others still in the cell would pipe back.
I was 40 miles from home in the little woman's car. Didn't have a nuc or any kind of box with me. I let nature take its course.
That won't happen again. You could say I wasn't lucky if you believe luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

Thanks for posting, addame.
I don't know if I was hearing piping about a month ago or not. It was in a newly installed package. So, I hope I was wrong! It was more of a zoozh sound. Kind of with a Jewish accent(if you can image). Of course I didn't have a camera or any recording device with me. I have seen the queen in that hive. She's a beauty.
