Starting running an inventory of hives, nucs and queen rearing in my head last night and just woke up feeling like I somewhere this year blew right over the obsessive line. Someplace this last year I went from ‘get 50 lb of honey per OW hive’, one nuc per OW hive and ‘fresh queens for each going into winter’. To making queens and nucs. The only reason I stopped last month was because I had all 12 slots of my castles full.

Sounds like Bee Rehab to me Minz... no bees, queens, hives, nucs, honey for one month. That'll be $3000 please, and Thank You! :D

"Beekeeping is not addictive" said no one ever! :D

heheh.. Yup, and good luck stopping there. Still shuffling and making queens and nuc's.. get the nuc's overwintered and you have a valuable comodity to sell! That will cut you back a little..... temporarily.. ;D

You're not alone. A while back I realised that I spend more time worrying about my bees than my kids. And more time researching raising bees than raising kids. I'm not saying in any way that I love my bees more than my kids (there's really no comparison), but when it comes to obsessive analysis, the bees definitely win out.
