This is from the mother hive that all the swarms came from. I had to break it down because it was over run by shb. I checked it today, and they weren't happy with me!

That's too much swelling.  Sell out now while you have your health.  :):)  We see much worse on this forum, and most of the old timers think that is a normal reaction.

They don't swell me, but sometimes they really leave an itching for a day or so.  It's all in a day's work, so just keep on keeping.

If you didn't get stung on occasion while keeping bees. Every one would have a beehive in their back yard. That being said I am glad you got stung as it keeps one honest about the commitment to keep bees. Hope you don't get to much or bad of a reaction from the sting and hope it medicated against getting arthritis.
This is posted with all my love and best wishes Apisbees.

 ;D

I dont typically swell, but I have a few times missed finding a stinger and didn't scrape it out, so got the full dose..  in those instances I might swell a little, and then a day or two later the itching drives me nuts..
I try to see the bright side..  with each sting....  hmmm, what was the bright side again??

After the itching subsides you get pain relief for your hard working hands  ;)  you could continue that sting therapy thru the winter if you want to blow into the entrance of the hive, wait a minute or two, and a couple of guard bees will come check out the bear outside of their hive...  just a suggestion  ;)

I think you jumped a thread here Lazy you want to post this in Jens cut out thread. I have as jumped threads while posting don't know what exactly what happened to do it but I think it had something to do with hitting the back button in the browser when coming out of looking at a photo up close, when we should have closed the photo window tab in sted.

I wasn't able to find a pic of my hand from a sting I took at on my wrist near a joint.  I couldn't see my knuckles!

This was right after the sting. My  whole left hand was a round blob by the end of the evening! It has gone down some now. Usually, I barely get any swelling ,just itching, This time she hit me really good.

Yeap, like Iv'e said before, I think it matters where they sting you.  Joint or on a vein.  I had fun with my hand that next day at work, freaking folk out, ha! It went down within 24 hours or so.

String that I took on the side of my eye that swelled so prolifically, took most of a week to go all back to normal.

Jack- "What Apis said, but i don't have a clue what Apis said.

That's a scientist or a nerd for ya Jack, or maybe scientists are nerds......   Anyway, thank goodness for our scientists.

Here's what you do Jack, you tell Apis something sweet, like "Apis.. I don't know what I would do without your knowledge, if I ever met you in person I would have to give you a big bear hug"

Then he blushes and, I Know! For Me... that he makes an effort to explain bee stuff where my earthy brain can understand.

Try it Jack! Say something sweet...  ;)

The thread I posted about your first cut-out did not show up on that thread, and it perplexed me.  I searched for it and found it on this thread.  That post had to with removing boards and did not fit into this thread.  Therefore, I copied it and post it where I originally wanted it, then deleted it from this thread.  It was a confusing thing for all of you and for me.

At my age the candle is dimming and current drugs I am taking from the knee surgery are not improving my brightness.
