Title: Down Time
Post by: iddee on July 20, 2014, 09:29:42 pm
I just received this email from Go-daddy.

""Dear GoDaddy Customer,

It is necessary for our hosting team to perform maintenance on your hosting account, worldwidebeekeeping.com. The window for this maintenance is from July 23rd, 2014 8:00 pm MST to July 24th, 2014 6:00 am MST.

We will be patching our cPanel hosting account servers. This will require a reboot of the server and may cause hosted sites to be inaccessible for up to 15 minutes. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to improve our servers.""

Scott hon! It'll be okay, I promise! Kisshug patpatpat, we'll all get thru it together...  Go! Go to your bees and meditate during those loooong 15 minutes to help ease the trauma. Personally, I will do some yoga and go within for peace and comfort during this time of uncertainty. We all will rise like a pheonix and come out of this forced down time.. arm in arm unscathed and unlooted.

Peace Love Hope brutha's and sistah's ~

But Jen, it will mean login back in and it has been so long that we had to do it that we may of forgotten our password's. or in my case logged in from 3 different computers, the ipad and through the smart phone all at the same time. I also see they picked my favorite time of day that I'm perusing the forum.

Thanks for the heads up Iddee We can deal with it.

But but but Apis... I have to log in everyday anyway ~shrug~

For some reason, the vortex where our house is or something or other, I have to log in every day and I can't use any of the icons and Word buttons either.

That's what I do, but when I log out at night, I still have to go thru that process every morning.

Now I know the problem, YOU LOG OUT! I'm bad I get called away and some times don't log out. OK more than some times. Or switch computers.

There are 4 in the house that never get shut down. I have one computer dedicated to the TV kind of like a PVR / DVD Netflexs / Boxee, setup with wireless mouse and keyboard. Main server. Office work computer
\ print server, stay on all the time. My daughters computer is on most of the time as she has games running in the back ground. She will only shut it down if she will be away for an extended time, 2 days or more. the only thing that shuts off the computers around here is a power failure.

I never sign out---and now I know why I had to sign in again today.

Been away from the forum for a while since the shellings got wild.  I just came back from my "sheltered room" after an alarm (one of MANY) and thought I'd put my mind at ease with a bit of beekeeping talk.  My bees keep working even while the alarms are in effect.  I guess they are really dedicated to doing "their thing". [The news just carried an update count --2,236 rockets have landed in Israel since the start of "hostilities".  But that count is already outdated,  we've already had several more in the past few minutes since the count wa given].

20 years ago I was using BBS Bulletin Board Service You would set up your computer modem to receive data calls or call another computer and when they connected, you used Dos commands to navigate and down or upload files. Other than dial up modems were so slow back then, 2400 bit per second, and needing to know the dos commands. it was a decant system for transferring files.
I'm a computer geek from a way back. Had a computer before IBM came out with the PC had word processor, crappy spread sheet, a few lame games and data was saved on cassette tapes. I did use the word processor program tho, could type and edit before sending the document to print. Big step up from the typewriter.
