Nice! Free bees!! I wonder what they charge to do the removals? The only issue I see;
Hold a Beekeeping licenses for your State or Province.
AFAIK there is no such thing here.. ???

what scott and fin said, might have to call and chat with them to get details and requirements, etc.....
but darn free bees? might just have to have jack call em and tell em the SQUIRT wants free bees so give em to her!................. :D
-
Just for fun I clicked on the sign up form and under "license or training/education" it says "OPTIONAL".
I signed up. Guess we'll see what happens.
-
post back fin as to result!........
-
Yea, I signed a swell. They have nothing for Arkansas yet.

I bookmarked their sight in hopes of remembering about it next year. I think the 20+ hive minimum is a bit extreme. Why not try to help the smaller folks get bigger? I'll try to remember to contact them next year and see where I can get.
-
Found them a couple weeks ago but I can't make the 20 box minimum so passed on it. Thought I'd give 'em a call just the same to see if they bend the rules occasionally.
-
thanks for the link and info! I'll share it with the keeps in my area
-
I called the number in my area & I thought they were kinda expensive for free bees. $150 a nuc. I guess that fair, but it's not free as advertised.
-
Thats not what the add says. I'd have done some chewing if I heard that.. Might have to call them just so I can yell at someone.. muahahaha!
-
Go get 'em! LEt us know what the result is :D
-
I did give them a call. The recording asks for your zip code. It then transfers the call to your area. The man I contacted is out, but his wife took my number and said he would call me. I will update.

I keep remembering that, "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true." But, I can see where a company that makes their bucks removing bees may not want to start a bunch of apiaries and buy woodward and hire employees. I hope it is true, because we have some beekeepers that can expand and/or make a windfall profit on free bees. Also, it keeps the bees in the environment. It's a win, win situation if it is as advertised.
