Thanks Barry :) I love to watch these flights
-
You'll soon need a ladder Barry! :D
-
Hopefully next year lol, be getting 2 more hives next year:P
-
great pics barry, thanks!
-
Be sure those hives next year are deeps Barry! If your gonna mess up your back might as well do it right ;) :D
-
My darling Jen, what would possess to believe I would do otherwise....isn't beekeeping a full contact sport lol?:-*
-
Dearest Barry, for me the sport is when my right nostril comes in contact with their fanny! ;)
-
I really must be doing something wrongs as I always wear full suit and veil and even gloves. Mind you I was roughed up pretty good including dozen or so inside veil, but never stung inside the nostril or even on the nose do eyes count? :P
-
Do you completely suit up when replacing syrup jars?
Yes! eyes count! Did that sting on the eye lid make you cry for about an hour?
-
for a simple things for a simple thing like replacing syrup bottles ( Boardman feeder ) no, but anything that means opening the hive up yes I do, I would rather be prepared for their very rare bad hair day then pretend everything is all sunshine and roses and find out otherwise. I can always take stuff off as I work, its difficult to walk away from a hive that is open to put your gear on.
-
Understandable :)
-
Barry how are these girls doing now? I'm very caution leaving my lids cracked. I've set off robbing doing that in the past.
-
They are relatively calm, don't much care for the lawn mower or weedeater but a few puffs of smoke and cut down immediately in front of hives no issues. After that they behave lol. ;-)
