Title: sugared honey in old comb
Post by: BellaFrunes on August 29, 2014, 10:34:17 pm
Does anyone have an idea how to salvage honey that has sugared in the comb?  This is old comb taken from a honey tree and sat in a bucket for the last 6 years.  I tried to double boil some but the wax melted with it.  Appreciate all answers.  Thanks

yes melt the wax. no water so very low heat required.

wax melts and floats. let the wax cool and harden  remove. strain then filter

any better way to do this?

How long would you have to leave it on the heat for the wax to fully rise.  I suppose it would depend on the size of the batch.  Thanks jayj
