Help me out here peeps! I been thinking of buying a swimming pool for the family & don't know the first thing about them. It would definitely be an above ground pool, & I've heard that round is better than oval. I have found one on craigslist a couple of hours away that looks really nice, but theres that take down & put up part of it. I'm a carpenter by trade, but my confidence is a little shaky on this one. It is a oval one, but it's pretty cheap so I would be willing to go oval/cheap as compared round/expensive.

Has anyone ever done a take/down, put/up? Is it worth it, or should I save up the money & let someone else do it?

The main things are:
1) It must hold water.
2) It must contain water.
3) It must contain sufficient water to immerse multiple people.

On a serious note, the simplest (and often cheapest) pools I've found are the ones made of waterproof canvas with an inflatable ring around the edge. You can get them up to 4' deep and several yards wide, so they're a good size for a small family pool; plus they're very easy to take down and put up, no carpentry required :)

I have had a few above ground pools, they are not to hard to put up, but with it being 7 years old you will have to buy a new liner for that one will come apart when the pool is taken down. Above ground pool liner or not as thick as in ground and the sun and chemicals will cause it to become brittle. So think about a new liner for it.

I have helped a couple friends move pools one an oval the other Round. Both are similar in construction. As long as you can keep track of how it goes together you will be fine. Major part is getting the ground under it level with sand. Before you start ;)
