Title: the frozen end! :(
Post by: mamapoppybee on November 13, 2014, 08:44:15 am
Even my more cold hardy greens have bit the frost bucket.  saddens me  because i had a real good crop of swisschard. Suppose i can now start looking to spring and what im going to need to make things bigger and more productive.  This was one of the best gardens i have ever had but with budget and  time i did not get all the beds i wanted in.       heres to warmer days.

Wow! that garden of your looked as good as my hydroponic garden did and the cold weather did away with mine also.

Going out to check on my chard and broccoli. I didn't cover them. The tomatoes I picked all and moved the aquaponic ones in the greenhouse so they are fine if they can adapt to greenhouse life.

That first freeze of the year is a heartbreaker for any gardener.  :-/

Very nice garden. Every year you learn something different.

Stayed so cold today I didn't open the greenhouse door. Fingers crossed, going to connect the dryer hose to the vent in the wall of the greenhouse and get it some heat tonight.  Guess I'll toss a sheet over the broccoli and chard, going to be colder than last night. Those 2 will overwinter in Texas if covered for hard freezes.
