Title: Has this happened to you?
Post by: tbonekel on March 04, 2015, 07:26:29 am
So it takes me a while to think about what I'm going to write when replying or creating a new post. In the last week after writing my post, I will click "post" and the site will make me log in again, loosing all of what I wrote. That is frustrating! Has this happened to anyone else.

I learned the "trick" a while back----but somehow, from time to time, the computer decides to forget that I'm signed in on "always stay logged in".
In my frustration I sign in again for "always"----till the computer reminds who really is the boss.

There are a few things that will sign you out.
If you sign in on computer #2, it will sign you out of #1.
If you clear cookies from your computer, it will sign you out.
There may be other things that I'm not aware of.

I think that must be what is happening. It seems to happen at random times. Thanks for all the responses!

It's happened to me too.  Good to know.  Sometimes I like to check in under the "cloak of invisibility" though.

Some days, it would be embarrassing if everyone knew how many times I pop in. Hit and miss.  :o

At the bottom of the Home page, there is a listing of those who were online during the last 24 hours.  Among them there is a category of "Hidden"
How does one enter in that  category?  Is it reserved for members of the forum? For non-members? For Hackers?   :eusa_think:

ef, if one goes into your own profile settings, there is a box one can check or uncheck "Show Others My Online Status".

although, administrators and moderators can see anyone logged in with that status unchecked, but will appear 'hidden' to members.
