This could be a good deal, what say ye?
http://knoxville.craigslist.org/grd/4930551948.html
wow, she just changed it from $20 per box to $25 a box, bummer!
-
when I click on it it takes me to my email and lands in address line
-
OK fixed the link and she also adjusted her price, still a fair deal I think.
-
$20 would have been a good deal. If I was going to make an offer, that's what it would be (knowing that she had that as a price originally). ;)
-
That sounds like a good deal. I wonder how long it will last? I sent it to a guy I work with that's just starting out.
-
I have called her twice and emailed her, she is non responsive. I told her I was interested in the whole lot.
It was at $20, I went to email her and came back to craigs list and it was $25.
-
Pig in a poke, 1.00 each is too much. After examination, maybe, but the comb may be black, riddled with moths, full of breaks, drone comb. Look first.
-
Not a good deal. I would never buy used frames. New frames cost 2 dollars each with foundation. You are paying 15 dollars for used honey supers. New supers cost 15.25 for select grade. If you want commercial grade and buy 10 or more you pay 12.10 a box. Theses prices come out of the 2015 Dadant catalog. My offer 10 bucks for the box. She can keep the old frames.

Provided the comb is GOOD comb, its a fantastic deal. I would by them in a heartbeat at 30 dollars each.. What is the price of a new medium from Mann Lake with frames and foundation?? (32.50 with frames and foundation) and you get the DRAWN comb to majorly boost your honey production this year. NOT that I wouldnt try to get them as cheap as possible... AND, Provided, as Iddee said, its good comb and there are no AFB scales in the cells etc....

finally got an email back from her. Less than 10 miles away to boot. Will go look at them tomorrow afternoon. Said she just did not have time to take care of her bees but was going to get back into them in a few years. Asked about other equipment but did not want to sell it. We will see what she has tomorrow.
HAHA if I do buy hope the wife will load them for me! :)

Well I thought it was worth it at $20 a box for 29 boxes.
Boxes and frames were only used one time, basically new.
Looks like honey had been pulled off, extracted, wet supers put back on the hives then pulled a little later. Had been sitting on Para moth crystals ever since. I did see about five frames that had some wax moth damage. All of the comb was in very good shape, white and clean, very few had brood spots in it. All is wax foundation that is wired in place.
Need to clean up the frames and boxes, burr comb and propolis, give a squirt of BT and stack back up for spring (just around the corner).

Good job!
-
A good visual works wonders, doesn't it? Good find.
-
Said it before, $20 would be a good deal, especially as you describe the equipment. Well done.
-
Well played G3!
Wish I could find some good deals around here....

I just followed the link and got this:
This posting has been deleted by its author.
I didn't even get a chance to see what was being offered.
As always, prices are determined by the law of supply and demand. If no one had responded for two weeks, you can bet that the price would have dropped, not jumped.
-
I will take some pics for you Ef as I start to clean them up. I must have been the first one to respond to the deal, she said her phone started to ring off the hook after that.
