Monday I leave for Florida for 8 days. My parents winter in Deland, Fla. Lived there when I was a kid. So, still have friends I keep in touch through facebook. They live right on the St' Johns river. Dad and I will fish most of the time I'm there. It is sooo relaxing! You feel you have went back 1000 years with all the manatees and alligators that are everywhere. Wild turkey's, water birds and the occasional black bear. I love it so much! About a mile down the river Horace Bell just built himself a new home. Very nice! I would love to meet him while I'm down there. Pick his brain on beekeeping. Hoping to maybe find a local beek and chat. The orange blossom will be blooming. If you have never smelled orange blossom it's what Heaven smells like. Oh my! Any beeks close to Deland give me a shout! Love to meet and tour your bees!

I been to Florida twice during my lifetime. Once during spring and once during September. The September trip was to hot and humid to do anything outside. The march trip was nice. I sat in the Texas rangers spring training camp for a week while the wife and kids toured the area. Temp was in the 80, when I got home I walk into 3ft of snow. Never again I will go south during spring. I was so missed up from two different climate changes. Its a nice place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there year round.
