Title: Rack to hold Queen Cells in Incubator
Post by: capt44 on May 10, 2015, 12:02:43 pm: This is the rack I use in my incubator to hold queen cells cut from foundation or jzbz cell cups.

Post by: Lburou on May 10, 2015, 01:09:41 pm: Thanks for that picture! It gave me an "ah-ha" moment. I didn't realize the large end of the roller cage would fit the base. A great adaption of that system! :-)

They are suppose to be capped off tomorrow.
Sunday or Monday I will move them into the incubator.

I won't even look at the hive for the next 4 days.
They are in a critical development stage right now.
Wednesday I can move them to Nucs and the incubator.
Thursday they are due to emerge.
I grafted 96 larva and had 89 take.
I hope to graft again Monday or Tuesday.

But later on say later part of June thru about the middle of August the acceptance rate really goes down.
Alot of commercial beekeepers like to requeen in the fall for the new queen will act like a new queen in the spring and be an egg laying machine.
That is so they will have a big population of bees in the spring.
