Title: Got my fist Swarm
Post by: mohawkny on May 11, 2015, 08:34:42 am
Got my first swarm Yesterday (sorry no video or pictures).  Came from one of my year old hives,  not sure which one yet.  It was kinda fun.

Good job!  Any pics?  One of my swarms flew your direction a couple days ago.  I couldn't keep up with them.

That’s interesting. On the western end of New York State I haven’t heard of any swarming yet. I give my bees plenty of room to work. 2 hives have 3 deeps.

blueblood: saw the video,  I thought they flew towards the school,  glad I mowing the fields,  I had not been down to see the bee yet that day.  Saw them 10  feet up in the tree.

10 feet isnt bad..   even 12 feet, but when they start getting higher than that it gets harder.  Glad you were able to get them!
