I've read this from somewhere else.. I was glad to re-read it!

So many things that I read do nothing but reiterate that if you ask 10 beeks, you'll get at least 10 answers.  I've read in many places that you SHOULD provide at least one frame of drawn comb, or at least foundations (if you so choose).  What do you all do?  I was thinking of putting them up with 1 frame of drawn comb and the rest just foundation...

CPN I too found recommendations from one end of the gammit to the other. Most agree a box at least the size of a ten frame deep is better but 30L is a compromise. Of course you know a five frame deep is about 20L. A lot of folks that have done it for a while say larger swarms will pass over smaller cavities so using smaller boxes you limit your self to smaller swarms. The same principle when filling the box.... if you fill it with foundation vs empty frames they see limited space and may move on. 

Off course I am no pro and I posted my first capture. Obviously I screwed up by not adding the empty foundationless frames. I have a friend that caught 12 last year in five frame nucs filled with foundation and baited with LGO, no drawn comb. This year has not been a swarmy year and at this point and he is at zero...

Thx for the pdf River.I've been using 8 frame traps for prime swarms,and 5 frames for after swarms.Also I put my lgo on a napkin inside a sandwich bag and fold it up.It last for a long time and isn't over powering.
