WAUW! Turn me loose on that property with a little picnic lunch and a mug of raspberry tea... and just leave me be...

A blooming wonderland for sure. We have a honeysuckle too, probably my most favorite bloom fragrance, she's just starting to bloom now.

We have pink, yellow and white honey suckles. The lilacs and Russian Olive smell better.

I was pointing out the dropped pollen to the wife behind the camera.

Love the smell of Lilacs.. transplanted a bunch of them this spring.. also planted a bunch of raspberries along my fences..  there is also 10ish acres planted with Sainfoin, Birdsfoot Trefoil, three different kinds of clover and a smattering of buckwheat.. Oh, and Borage...   Hoping my property will start to look as good as your soon!

Like Lazy i love the smell of Lilac, got one under my bedroom window (just finished blooming), but have never seen a bee on it? Al,do you or anyone here know if bees work Japanese Honeysuckle, the kind that can climb small trees and smother them out in wooded area's?? Jack

Yes! The Lilacs! It has a wonderful old garden feel and scent to it. I don't ever see honeybees on mine either, but I do see bumbles on it and other pollinators. Mine didn't do so well this year, I think Cali spring came way too early.

I don't think I have ever seen Japanese honey suckle let along honey bees working it.
I think I have a CD from 14, 15 years ago when the honey bees were working the lilacs. Have to take a look next rainy day.
They just love the Russian Olive more so they are normally in that while the lilacs are in bloom.
I was setting eating supper last night and could smell the Russian Olive strong.

47F here this morning.  It was cool and breezy and in the 60Fs yesterday.  I guess we'll have to call this the Vernal Vortex.*

*vernal means Spring

Feel bad for ya'll.

Wasn't it just a short bit ago Ya'll were praying for rain? Maybe ya'll should be careful what ya'll ask for.

I think it would be nice to have rain many a time but never prayed for it

Kare has about 3800 SQ FT of perennial flower beds and untold number of shrubs and trees that flower. I learned her plants when shopping for them and I kept a bee book at the time too. I have several little hand books Wild flowers of Michigan, Trees of Michigan, Critters of Michigan and edible wild plants of Michigan. So if I don't now what it is I look it up.
