Title: I'm so proud of my Dad!
Post by: Slowmodem on May 30, 2015, 03:59:15 pm
I am working night shifts.  Dad called me up a little while ago and said, "They called me from the campground (about a mile away) and said there's a swarm.  Do you want to go get them?"  I told him I needed to wake up and get ready for work.  He said, "OK".

After thinking about it for a few seconds, I decided that the least I could do is put some LGO in a couple of empty boxes and see if they come by.

Well, I got down there and Dad was loading the bee vacuum into his truck.  He said, "I might as well go take a look at them!"  Wow!  I'm so proud!   :eusa_clap:

He called when he got there and said they were about 30 feet up and there's no way he could get to them.  But it's really great that he loaded up and went.

By the way, he'll be 80 in November and they're having their 60th anniversary on Friday.

You just told us about one of the ways a dad shows his love for a son.  Good for BOTH of you.  :)

I would say your pop was a pretty good example of what we should all be like.  Like mentioned above, I hope I can be as active at that age.

Ef hit the nail on the head. It made me think of my hubby and his dad. His dad is 87, getting feeble but still sharp as a tack and active as he can be. Father in law has made it this far due to the excellent care hubby has giving. And another thing. I know in my heart that our son will be there for his dad too. I'm surrounded by very caring men  :) O:-)
