I had another inspection by the State yesterday.
Since I raise queens and ship out of state I have to be inspected every 90 days.
I passed with flying colors.
The hive I've been grafting from swarmed and now I'm having to graft from another hive.
One good thing we didn't see not one small hive beetle. ;D

We had the inspector over today, too, to inspect 2 nucs going to Iowa. We only have to be inspected once a year, and it's free.
Passed easily.
One hive beetle in 14 colonies.
No varroa in the Wayne's hives.

Capt44,
A question. Do you think that they pulled a or some queen cells from the areas damaged when you are grafting? Many times I think that I am providing a very prime target. So I go back into the frames and check days after grafting, trying to prevent it. Tim

They very well could have.
I had the frames I was going to graft from in the top box where it would be easy to get too.
I usually use a timing box but this was an exceptional hive and I was grafting from it.
I'll let the hive rest and build up and see what the new queen will do.
I've got 8 hives I can graft from.
But I like the timing box a lot better for I know exactly how old the larva is.
Would you believe I actually caught the swarm and put in a hive with a frame of brood and honey.
The very next day they swarmed again and went Northwest somewhere.
