some pics of the river that runs through our property, we love to snowshoe along the river in winter.......good fishing for trout in the summer.
the river is almost frozen over now, it's been in the minus temps for sometime. i like to drive the 4 wheel horse across the ice to the other side, park it and explore some more. scaring up the deer, or other critters; looking at and identifying animal tracks or where an eagle may have landed.... and just the peace and quiet from the city.....happy new year all!

Nice pictures river, but it looks too cold for me! ;)
-
Beautiful. Be sure to post summer pics of the same area. Would love to see it in all its glory.
-
Awesome pictures RR, i can picture a squirt on a 4 wheeler with her hair flying straight out behind her as she plows through the river. Jack

Wow,that is beautiful. How thick does the ice on the river typically get? Does it completely freeze over? When does it thaw out?
-
Post a pic in August and I'll comment. I don't like cold.......... :P >:D

What I see is a 4 season beauty. 8) Great place to live :)

blue, the fishing is good, brown trout, and we have spring creeks that flow in, so some brookies in spring and late fall, i like to fish early in the morning or later in the evening before the combat crowd with all their high tec gear on arrives from the city....LOL....
too cold perry? i thought you ran around in shorts wearing a winter parka to shovel or try to start a lemon snow blower....LOL.
yeah it's about -10 degrees below zero, -25 with windchill factor today.
it is beautiful fin, it's not montana where i grew up, but sure do love it. our 'farm' and river runs and is nestled in a valley between two ridges. in it's glory, she shore is beeeautiful!
jack, i have to admit, i don't drive that 4 wheel horse (800 polaris) across the river unless that river is solid ice, sure have run it on the property, and in some steep places, and up and down the country road with my hair a flying......and ps, got her stuck a time or two so bad, a neighbor had to bring down his john deere tractor to lift me out of the frozen mud the next morning.....LOL....
rcannon, not sure how thick that ice gets......only in years like this when our temps are consistently below zero for a stretch of time does it freeze over in places, and only then will i ride that 4 wheeler over.....i usually walk it first, and poke around, to make sure i am not going to land in the water.....ooohhh did that once....she starts to thaw, come late february or march. when she thaws, and the snow melt comes down the ridges, we have experienced some crazy flooding.
thanks marbees it is, and a great place for the bees!
