I wondered why I had as many bees inside my veil as there were outside. The stings in the temple were the worst.. :'(

If I had a $1 for every time I've worked a few hives and then discovered that I had forgotten to zip up the veil, well............................. :-[ :D
-
I had a similar experience the other day. Getting bee in my veil and couldn't figure out why, veil was fully zipped. Turned out I only had the jacket zipped up half way. :-X
-
I figured out if you not going to zip it up might as well leave it in the truck.
We do need a couple of pics though! ;D
-
Lol. I did zip it up. The zipper failed in the back and I didn't know it.
I was changing the nuc box on a trap out in a front yard. A lot of mad homeless bees, I couldn't stop in the middle so I just had to take the stings.
No pictures cause I don't even swell anymore.
Got my zipper fixed the next day.

Rub a little beeswax on the zipper to help it slide better, makes a world of difference.

Yankee11 try lubricating the hood zipper with Lemon Essence Oil. ;D
-
I use beeswax and walnut oil that I make to go on wood bowls and cutting boards. Works great. Ends up the slider part was worn out. I don't understand that as I hardly ever that bee jacket /s.
I got it slide part replaced at a alteration place. The cost- 1lb squeeze bottle of honey.
