Title: Round 2 on the Bee Vac

Well here's my second attempt.  Hopefully I done better this time.  Only thing I haven't changed is the hose size due to the fact I haven't been out to buy a larger one yet.
Got the day off today due to all the snow (makes me feel like a kid getting a snow day) ;)

Changes I made from first attempt.  I decided to use the bucket vac for my basement work shop and use the motor from the larger one.  It is removeable.  Top board is still removable but I have to make the vent hole one large one instead of the small ones due to the larger vac.  Screen has been added to the bottom of the top board with a center brace.  Shim has the wire mesh removed and a trimmed down propolis trap installed with center brace.  It is removable.   

Other than cutting the larger vent hole and getting the larger entrance hose is there anything else I missed.

You havent painted it yet???    ;D   Looks good! What did you use for the slide in screen?  Propolis trap maybe?

LOL - I almost did a quick edit to say I still need to fire up the torch to finish the paint job.................

Yep, propolis trap.  Trimmed 3/8" off each side.  Left the length alone.  Gives me a good grip for pulling it out.

Got lucky.  Put a panel blade in the table saw and lil by lil raised it. Ran the edge of the one with the wire mesh in it till I was able to slide it out, then slipped the trap in.  Easier than making a new one.

Now THAT looks like a jim dandy bee vac!! The only thing I might have changed would be to turn the sliding lid around so it can be slid out with out undoing the strap.

Just add a little weather stripping on the edges and it will be right up town!

If you think you have leaks, use your smoker to find them. Puff a little smoke around the joints and it will be sucked in.

Looks good. Now we need some bee removal videos LOL

You know I did look at that but didn't flip it around. I do have a lil lip on the one end but that can be removed.   For leaks I just move a kleenex along the edges and find them with no trouble.

You will need a bigger bypass with the bigger vac head.

Just ordered a 2 1/2" X 20' shop vac hose.  Not bad.  Home depot for $25  Should be set.
