Rcvd a call about a limb on the side of the road. I was told there were bees and you could see the comb inside. So I got my head and headed out. The limb had fell from about 50 feet a few days ago. So the result was dead bees and damaged comb from the rain. It appears to have been a very old give based on the pictures and size. There were still bees there, either survivors and or foragers. What line of bees are the ones with black bottoms? Thought I would share.

Good pics. No idea what type of bees they are. Did you manage to snag anything out of the trip?

Nothing salvaged, just a good chat with the homeowner and some pictures. All there was was some foragers.

From my experience, bees with dark abdomens like that were ones that were covered in honey & are stressed. That's some old dark comb!
