Title: Odd coloured honey for fall

Here's a new one. I have some late honey that I extracted. The comb and the honey are this very odd color. A light bright yellow. Like fluorescent urine. Any idea where this could be coming from? It's more of a fruity sweetness than the usual more generic taste. There were a few cells of orange pollen when I harvested it.

OK, now I've heard honey described in many many different ways, but that just knocked my socks off! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
About the only thing left in my area now is Aster and maybe a bit of Japanese knotweed.

I have seen our bees coming in with a bright orange pollen just this past weekend, not sure what it is or where they are getting it

Ha you know, I am trying to rethink my description, but it really does look like urine. Not sure it's appealing or would sell. Mountain dew (US Coloring) is also very close.

Glad that you all found it amusing though. My girlfriend says she thinks it could be pollen from our Pumpkins.

No commercial but we did have some of our own. Maybe 10-20 of them.

my first though was what Riverrat said.  next I would guess cotton but I am guessing in Nova Scotia you don't have any of that.  I have found over the years that color is not what sells honey... no matter what the low balling bottlers would like you to believe.  taste is what my own clients go for.  as long as you are selling in small volume a sample bottle provides all the information a customer wishes to know.
