oopps lazy, you started my thread for me.......... :D
i looked at this title and thought what......?  i am on the wrong forum.......LOL!!!! :D

been meaning to start a thread on my immunotherapy progress, my apologies.  i will get this going under a new name for the thread here in this great new forum.  thanks for the kick in the pants lazy, i deserved it, and really, thanks for caring!  i am on monthly injections now, last months injections went well except for the honey bee injection, i always get a large welt from this.  my next injections are next week, wednesday afternoon, l will have a thread started and going on this by then so everyone can follow along, and keep updated as to my progress.

my brother? thank you for asking, ef has asked as well. my brother will not be able to work for at least a year with the injury sustained to his leg. this is unfortunate, at least he didn't have to have it amputated.  not sure if he will ever be able to go back to driving a log truck or work in the woods.  he is struggling with his financial obligations and much more than that, and sometimes does not take my calls, i can't push this right now, hard to explain. sometimes family dynamics are complicated.  we are close, and in time, he will come around and say to me how sorry he was for not taking my calls.  i get it, i understand.

for those that don't know what lazy shooter is referring to, i am an allergic beekeepeer who developed an allergy to honey bees and all stinging insects in the spring/summer of 2012. i suffered anaphylactic reactions, and have been undergoing venom immunotherapy ( 3 injections per week, now monthly) since last january (2013).  i cannot work bees until my doc says it's safe to do so.

my brother.....he was on a mountain side in montana exploring in a side by side with a group of his friends, his grandson strapped in beside him.  my brother stopped, unstrapped and got out to help another behind him.  when he stepped back up on the side by side, and before he could strap back in, the side by side rolled numerous times down a mountain side and rolled over him, and he kept hanging on, because of his grandson. (grandson not a scratch and unharmed).  my brother suffered multiple compound fractures to his right leg.  it took them hours to get him down the mountain side (remote area) and hours before he could receive emergency room help and surgery. (10 hours) he is very  blessed he is alive and very blessed not to have had the leg amputated.  another brother, present in the emergency room, told me when they cut his boot off, bone and bone fragments fell from the boot. i flew home (montana) when i got the call.  lots of surgery and pins and all sorts of metal in his leg.  he is fortunate to be alive.

and lazy, thanks for asking and giving me the incentive to start the thread!

I'll be beating you mercilessly with a broomstraw if you don't get on the ball. We are all in suspense. It's like the power going off 5 minutes before the end of the movie.

We got a group of young guys with thick wallets looking for an out of state rifle hunt for elk. How is the brother set up for Wapiti? Two filled tags this last November (I was the only one left empty) and now they really got the fever.

minz, he doesn't have the guide's license, but excellent!  i have hollered at him about this in the past, and about river guiding.....he would be good at both of these. just didn't have time working in the woods, but now he may be looking at choosing a different profession.....thank you!

RiverBee:

Was your brother a timber logger?  I can't seem to remember.  Seems like something to do with trucking.  He really drew the brass ring with several compound fractures.

lazy bk, you didn't miss anything my friend, not here, all of this info was on another forum.  thanks for your support and well wishes not knowing any details, it is greatly appreciated!

lazy shooter, yes he has worked in the timber industry, primarily driving log trucks and chip trucks. he has done a fair amount of sawing and running skidders and loaders but the drivers are the ones with the skills on steep switchback mountain sides to get the timber out, few choose to drive these trucks out of the conditions they drive in.  also operated heavy equipment during forest fires in the summers for the forest service.  he won't be doing any of that too soon either. yeah, the compound fractures......when i first saw his leg and the images......well i can stand a lot of things, but....yikes..... amazing  what the docs can do ......

Ziffa and Jen:

'Riverbee is the stuff real women are made of.'  (the quote won't allow to not end the sentence is a preposition)  She became deathly allergic to her bees, (the little creatures that she loved as much as life itself) and her brother fell off a mountain.  It was one of those one-two punches that would put a lessor person down.  But here comes the riverbee explaining her immunology treatment in detail from month to month and info on her brother's prognosis.  All of the afore mentioned information, presented with copious amounts of humor.

When we in the "oil patch" see someone whine, we say "man up."  It's not going to be bad enough for anyone to ever say man up, or er, woman up to the riverbee.

Obviously, I like the tough old bird.  No, I have never met riverbee.

Slow Shooter  ""Obviously, I like the tough old bird.  No, I have never met riverbee""

When I first got onto this forum I remember hearing about river getting hit in the head with a tape measure that was flung from her neighbors snow blower. And that's just the beginning of what I heard about her. Good Lord Amighty!
