Yeah, so hubby and I keep an on going scrabble game all winter, we're at it every day just like newlyweds.
I have to work hard at this word game, and it doesn't help that I'm married to a walking dictionary.
Then, I get plagued with IVS, Irritable Vowel Syndrome :\'(

I censored my response after that quote ;-)

Surely there must be a cure! ;D
-
I started playing chess online with a keep at the other end of the valley. Doing OK too. :)
-
rwlaw, the only cure is throwing the whole game out the window :D However, we really enjoy it, gives me a moment to make a cup of tea/honey and sit down, make a word ;) Sometimes we are real busy for a few days so the game will last that long. Dementia prevention, I want to continue being a pain in the booty on this forum for at least 20 more years ;D 8)

Don't worry Jen, with posts like that you will entertain for many years to come. Doing things together insures a good relationship for the future. :-)

Lee "I censored my response after that quote ;-)"
Hahaha, I wouldn't worry about it Lee, Iddee doesn't censor his jokes ;D

congrats jen! life is good! we do some similiar, not scrabble though, he doesn't like it cuz i'm the walking dictionary............. :D

Well, I can understand that River, when hubby can play every tile in one turn and rack up a gazillion points in one fair swoop ???
But I can play a good game, and there is no pressure of other players shaking their knees under the table while I take an hour to come up with a pretty good word ;D So it makes for a relaxed game 8)

I'd have to hide the game board from the cats. There would definitely be scrabble letters all over the house. Of course, the new pup would eat the letters. It is great that you do that Jen. I play Words with Friends to keep my brain from turning to mush.
-
Hmmm, Do tell :) haven't heard of Words
-
It is a very popular APP. I have many friends that I play against. The good thing is you make your move and if you don't get back to the game for several hours (or days for some folks), it's okay.

Newlyweds don't play Scrabble. Much.
That said, I used to be quite the character in our local 4-H program. We were up at a 4-H camp one time and were playing "Hangman". At one point the opposition had guessed a good number of my letters. So far it spelled M-A-S-T _ _ _ T-I-O-N. No one dared to try and guess the rest of the letters. No one bothered to count the blanks, the 4-H Leader was looking daggers at me. It was a new word I'd just learned in College. I won because no one knew what "mastication" meant (chewing).
-
Do you play hangman differently up there? Down here, we would have had to show both i's and both a's when they were guessed.
-
Yeah, that rings a bell. We probably did. It's been about 40 years so we can't trust the memory of the coot who related this story.
