A Mystery member, shown below, picked up some bees yesterday. He said it would be okay to post the picture and have you guess his identity. Who is it?

Also had this visitor...

A laundry basket for tool box
-
I am going to guess that it's LS?
-
I was thinking Lazy Shooter as well...?
-
The 2nd pic is tender vittles
-
Yes! Lazy Shooter wanted to go with all medium 8 frames this time. He mentioned his visit in chit chat, but I wanted you all to see what a great friend looks like. :)
He put those bees next to some RWeaver Buckfast bees, we'll see how they do. He also wanted to try a migratory cover. I bought some Oops paint and mixed all the colors together and then thinned it with white and came up with that green color, how do you like it?
I always enjoy visiting with Lazy, he is more colorful in person than in print. :)

He is always ready to bug out. His last SUV got dirty and the next thing I knew, he had a new one. He probably wanted to make the switch even faster next time using a laundry basket with big handles Mikey....

I was surprised that none of the women erroneously thought that you were selling bees to Tom Selleck. I guess it's the blond hair that threw them awry. :):)
-
What a Handsome Fella! Tom Selleck has nothing on you Lazy ;) 8) And I envy that fabulous shock of pure white hair ;D
-
Lookin good! Never thought to mix my oops paint I buy... I usually just use one can till it runs out, then switch to the next...
-
Mixing oops paint... I tried it once and they came out looking like the hive had a SEVERE case of nosema...
Good to see you if not quite in person Shooter!
-
Always nice to put a face to a "handle". Thanks for posting!
-
Aren't beekeepers almost always good lookin people? ;)
-
@the other lazy:
Lee's hives appear to have been finished and painted by an artist. The hive in my SUV is finished better than the furniture in my home. I thought about loading the bees into a different hive box and moving Lee's hive into my office for a "show and tell" item. It's a work of art.
@Perry:
Look close at the picture of lazy and you will see that his old face has about a thousand blemishes from the sun, wind and rain. Good looking beekeeper! In your dreams maybe. :):):)

Humble doesn't work in my book of good looks Lazy. Give me a rugged face over a Hollywood face Any Day! And that goes for hands as well... well used, brown spots, gnarly knuckles, add in a missing finger... now those hands are a lovely work of art... ;) 8) ~Hugs~

... well used, brown spots, gnarly knuckles,...
That reminds me. Lazy said he got stung on his middle finger. I'm sure he'd show it to us, but we are so PC nowadays... ;) How is that joint doing lazy?

Zweefer, I got two gallons of really ugly paint, mixed them and got a green. Then, thinned it with white and eventually got the color you see in Lazy's Escalade. Prolly won't be so lucky next time. But, it was cheap! :)

Lee, I like that nice cool mint color ;)

Lee, I like that nice cool mint color ;)
Thanks Jen, we do too. :)
-
The mint color is real nice. I may take an extra box to our local paint supply store and have a gallon made to match. The computers can make matching paint now days.
-
Glad you all like the color. I'll probably stick with it for a while.
-
hehe YEP, at least until you run out!!!
I have a lot of GRAY boxes... just because I had 5 gal of it... Wife bought it for the floors in the store, then changed her mind.... :-\\
-
Let's hear it for the beekeepers. One of the most difficult items to recycle or dispose of is paint. It is hard on the environment. Now, comes the beekeepers to the rescue. We will use your paint on our boxes. :):)
-
lee, thanks for the great picture of LS.............and the great pic of the fawn. (enjoyed!)
lazy shooter, rugged and handsome.........don't let your head swell up too far........... :D :D :D
i have used oops paint, done some mixtures and some not so pretty........i have ppl ask me what the different colors on the boxes mean....... :D :D :D
anyway, very true about paint and just about anything........given the opportunity us beekeepers could probably recycle and re-purpose anything (not just paint) or figure it out........... :D :D :D

At my local Lowe's store, the paint clerk added tint to move the color toward one that was more acceptable. It helped a little. But it was the second gallon that brought out the green. So, when you buy Oops paint, be sure to ask about adjusting the tint to something more pleasing to your eye. A color wheel might be real helpful in that situation, all I found was gap in my education and really didn't know which color to mix for an improvement. :)

My daughter woks in the paint department at Home Depot. Their policy is to re-tint any paint that the customer returns because it is the wrong color. To many would buy $50.00 a gallon paint bring it back saying it was the wrong shade then buy it off the mismatched rack at $10,00 a gallon. Due to this policy and adding more tint, there are not to many light shades in the mismatched rack. If the color matcher screws up and the color is wrong and discovered in the store and a new can is mixed then they don't re-tint it.
