Can I get BT in our local ACE hardware store?
-
Their website indicates they do. Also Amazon and eBay.
-
Also from Zulu on this forum, and he knows which strain you need. There are many different BTs..
-
I have it in small bags that makes a quart. Add to a squirt bottle and spray about thirty frames.
-
BT?
which BT?
Bee Tequila?

Thanks Iddee :) I'll see if I can wake him up.
I'm getting tired of freezing and refreezing all season long.

Okay, I just checked Amazon and yeah there isn't anything there I understand or would use without beekeeping instruction.
And my computer or maybe the vortex that our house is in, but the search box on this forum doesn't work for me. How can i get ahold of Zulu? Can someone summon him for me?
Ooops wait! I just went up this thread and found the link with him on it. Nevermind ;) 8)

I don't use the search box in the upper right corner. I use the search in the tool bar along the top of the page. "home, help, search, etc." You can also click om "members", then Z, then scroll to Zulu. Click on his name and send him a PM. The same for CBT. I did not know he sold it, but he has the correct one, also.
-
Oh Cool! Thanks Iddee, I haven't seen Zulu on for awhile, so I'll knock on CBT's door.
Okay... I pm'd both Zulu and CBT

I just placed an order through Amazon a couple of days ago for $16 plus $6 shipping.
Below is what I ordered.
DIPEL PRO DF Biological insecticide BT 54% 1 POUND BAG by Valent USA
-
Thanks Jim, I did get a response back from CBT, he's mailing me some from his store :) 8)

If you want to kill wax moth larvae, look for one of these brands: Xen-Tari, B401, or Certan, they are B.t. variety aizawa (the one that kills wax moth larvae).
Added: After reading Jack's post below Agree is B.t. a. as well.
-
The listing will be for diamond back moth, there will be no such listing for wax moth.

Quite right on the variety, it needs to be aizawai

a copy of the agree wg page
click on the link at the bottom

I use Xen-Tari BT I'm quite pleased with it.
-
Just out of curiosity, I am going to run out to the Tractor Supply store and see what they have there. Call it a fact finding mission.
-
That would be good to know Baker! We now have a Tractor Supply.
And I have recieved some BT from CBT. Do I need a shot for TB? :D :D :D
-
No TB shot needed Jen, but BT is a close cousin to anthrax
-
Be careful handling BT, it will go airborne very easily, and inhaling it is not a good thing.

Dpel PRO is not the correct strain:
ACTIVE INGREDIENT:

fermentation solids, spores, and insecticidal toxins* . . . 54%
OTHER INGREDIENTS. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 46%
This is correct;
