walked down to my back fence line to see what my redbone was up to early this morning & noticed a swarm in a peach tree. checked all the hives & none had absconded so it was a swarm. shook them into a box & hauled them to another yard & put them into a nuc. with calls included this is the 4th swarm I know of in the last week.

Any idea why there are so many late season swarms this year? Rainfall?

not a clue. same thing happened last year but I believe most of last years swarms were hives that had absconded. 2 of my strongest hives absconded last September. the most obvious effects of this years wet weather was an increase in shb populations & smaller honey crops.
