Post by: Papakeith on January 18, 2014, 11:58:48 am
This is the longest I've ever not trimmed mine.

Excellent beard!
Now that's what I'm talkin about. Mine was like that, looked like a perfect Santa type.
I used to have one but not allowed to any longer. Growing a stache out right now.

I got a late start on mine this year. Probably going to keep it trimmed up fairly neat this year.

When you start in late summer it's alright, but I cut mine off in mid-June on my birthday. When it gets raving hot, that beard won't make things feel any cooler.

I haven't grown a beard in over twenty years.  Usually stick to the goatee and mustache.  Back in my construction days, I always grew one for Winter  because we would spend all Summer in steel mills and chemical plants and all Winter out in field somewhere working a new plant.

Grew my beard when I was 25 because it made me look older. Must have worked...I look "older".

(42 years later it's still hanging on.)  ;)

Riverbee, That's Stonewall Jackson. Next to Stonewall (not in the photo) is Robert E. Lee. My wife is quite the Civil War buff and "rebel". Just to keep things balanced, I have a portrait of William Tecumseh Sherman hanging over my desk.  :)

Mine is a year-round beard,  but the good Missus keeps me from letting it get too long.  Besides, I have to think of my grandchildren---they prefer smooth skin to wiskers, so I have to leave them a ilttle space (my forehead?)

Ooooooh, can you imagine how embarrassing that would have been if it had been "some other" place?
There clearly would have to have been some disciplinary action taken.  :D

No barber no scissors no way I have had mine since 1985 wife and kids have never seen a clean shaven face on me. My hair got trimmed at work last summer from welding sparks. I first smelled it, not the first time, then the heat came, stop welding  hood came off wiped hand over head and down hair and came up with clumps.
