The air temp was 71°. He's already asking about any needed improvements. He's one heck of a brother. Did I mention he made 20 or so boxes and the frames to fill them, along with bottom boards, tele covers, inner covers and feeders? He also put a file together with directions for the melter build. I'll post it when I receive it. Ted

Awesome looking melter! 8)
Is it insulated at all or does it get that hot just as a black wooden box?
-
If I had a brother like that he'd get free honey for sure any time.
-
Sides and bottom are insulated and the top has 2 panes of glass.
Yeah,Tim gets anything he wants free of charge. So do the other boys, but Tim gets it first
I was asked once why he would do all these things free of charge (he's even covered the cost of materials) and didn't have an answer. Having given it some thought I now know it's because he loves me and wants me to be successful. How cool is that? And maybe even rare. Ted

very nice! Impressive. :)
-
Things like that are justly categorized under the topic of brotherly love.
Ted, you've struck it rich, and I have the feeling that your brother has too.
As to the wax melter---I love those "little" sophisticated improvements Tim incorporated: easy moving with those wheels and the lifting handle, the chain to keep the cover from opening too wide and the ability to make angle aadjustments. TERRIFFIC!
-
Very neat job.
Makes mine look even more tatty.
Any thoughts on what do on a windy day ?
-
That's a thing of beauty. I am green with envy. Like Barbarian, I would be concerned with the wind, especially in my part of the plains.
-
We need a drooling emoji! C:-)

SWEET!!! Tell your brother I love him too! Not because I want him to make me anything, but because I am looking forward to bringing up wax and sitting in your back yard with a rum and coke Yakking with you while it melts!!!

I can't speak to the windy aspect as the melter is at Josh's house which has AMPLE protection from the wind, but it seems very stable. I've jostled it around good just to see what would happen and am pleased with it's stability.
SCOTT! I'm glad to see you are still among the living! Maybe I'm a little child like but I have enjoyed just sitting and watching the wax melt! Saying that out loud sounds...lazy?... bored?... akin to "watching the grass grow". But I enjoy it! That would be great to hang out, you drinking rum and coke , me drinking whatever that stuff is that has nothing in it but water, bubbles and chemistries notion of what lemons taste like, shooting the breeze watching the wax melt and the grass grow!
Ef: Thanks, I'm reminded almost daily of how blessed we are. Ted

We have an excuse to be weird. We are beekeepers.. NO ONE will question it!!

Scott if the wind is blowing, no sun, the wife not there giving honey does  At your age now you can set in front of the mirror, drink rum and coke, and watch the hair grow out your ears. Jack
