Maybe so ...
I wonder if the US will follow suit.

Hope so, but I am starting to lose confidence in our regulators in the face of growing pressure to deregulate. Some regulation is needed, but the mood is becoming, "All regulation is bad"

I long ago lost confidence........ OH... BELLS again, must be getting close to Christmas....
I lost confidence long ago.. when you ask a chem company to test their own chemicals your asking for trouble before they even start. So IMHO there has NEVER been any confidence.....
If the findings are indeed well founded, I would hope that the US would follow suit and ban said Neonic... However.. there is money involved so, No matter how NECESSARY it might be, it will take another ten years before it is even discussed here in the US.

It's like asking the fox to guard the hen house.

I (sadly) see the same trend as both Neil and Jack. There does seem to be a knee jerk reaction to any and all regulation. Perhaps some should ask why were these regulations and requirements formed in the first place??? Without a doubt some regulations have gone way past their expiration date and at least for myself excessive regulation just waters down those regulation that do accomplish a positive social end. No one should desire that and Lazy and Baker are quite correct in that a great deal of research is a bit like the fox guarding the hen house. Sadly when society decided to defund university education and thereby shifted funding to corporation and not tax payers a great deal of research is now undertaken with an end results already decided even before the research is started.

I am hopeful.....the best we can do is write our reps in Congress and our State reps, which I have
done in the past and will continue to do till they are sick of hearing from me LOL!
