Title: Search
Post by: tefer2 on January 24, 2014, 10:21:03 am
My search option on the forum covers part of the current date. Is this the same for everyone else?

tefer, a little more detail on what you mean?  i just tried to do a search and see that the search box is not functioning, we'll have admin take a look at it and fix it.

Which one (search box) are you using? I prefer to use the one at the top left in the tool bar for the forum.

Please elaborate.  I just checked the standard search (menu bar)  and the quick search (top right)  and both seem to be working fine.

If your point is search doesn't find posts that where just created, this is normal,   the search is not continuously indexed,  so it does take time for new post to show

It is applied over the year portion of the date shown, top right hand side.
I just checked it, it's not working either.

tefer, the search box top right hand corner, when you put a query in, you have to hit 'enter' on your pc, rather than clicking the eyeglass.

That needs fixing then, why have the eyepiece.
Still doesn't explain why it covers the date.
Maybe you guys should just delete it and use the one on the left header.
No sense having two!

ok, now i understand what you are saying, can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing? the search box, top right hand corner shouldn't be covering the date, the search box is below it. hang on and i will post a shot of what you should see....

maybe your page is zoomed.  Hit CNTL 0 (zero) to make sure your zoom is normal.  Also, maybe you have your font something different than default.  Go into your options and look at Content > Fonts and Colors > Advanced.  It sounds like your text is out of whack somewhere.

The search box up in the RH corner does not initiate by clicking on the icon at the edge of the box. It does however when you hit enter on keyboard.

The search box third from the left hand side under the  forum logo gives a better search function at least that is the way on my version of firefox

ok tefer, will let admin/I T troubleshoot, it's some sort of browser issue, if it works okay for you in chrome.

crofter, the search box for tefer is not showing correctly, or is covering the date.

PC Win. 7  computer. By playing with cntrl/+- I can shift the search box and date line so they pile up together on my machine too.

I am on a mac using firefox. I can go to the limit using command +or - and they stay in the correct sequence. I cannot make them overlap.
