I got a call today from Stl. P.D. for a swarm. the swarm arrived at choutuea & boyle just as marathon runners hit the same block. while the likes of us would be in awe as we watched the swarm roll in there was a lot of panic in the crowd. I think the 911 circuits blew some fuses. dispatch gave me the number of the officer at the scene who told me that they had settled in about 30' up in a Bradford pear tree. I was about to tell him that at that height they wouldn't bother anyone when he says ' I can call a firetruck......' well who could say no to that????? I arrived to find a ladder truck waiting for me!!!! climbed up & retrieved a nice size ( 4-5#'s ) swarm.

Cool!
Did they let you run the siren, too?

That will be a good story for years to come. Did they let you wear a firemans hat and turn on the siren? That would have been icing on the cake. ;D ;D cool story thanks for sharing it.

no- no sirens. I didn't even ask. it was cool enough to have a ladder truck at my disposal. these police calls always draw a crowd. I had one last year where 3 tv stations & the Stl post Dispatch newspaper showed up.

Someone somewhere must have taken some pics?

I made the mistake of trusting the wife with the camera, got some great shots of her feet as she walked down the street, the back of my truck, & some long distance still shots of me going up the ladder...........we've been down this path before. I should know better by now.

Maybe the mistake is not teaching her to use it?
