ole theo pulled the worst stunt ever he got sick and I ended up driving him to K-state after local vet couldn't find anything turns out emergency surgery was needed he had swallowed a 2 foot long stuffed doggy chew toy and had it lodged in his small intestine and stomach. Anyhow after a 150 mile trip to manhattan and up all night I'm home and he is still at kstate but going to recover. Dang ole dane has had a habit of swallowing anything fabric since he was a pup but we never dreamed he could have got this one down
-
Wow, that had to have been scary. Poor pup, hope he recuperates quickly and hide your socks or anything else he might ingest.
-
poor Theo, hope he recovers fully.
-
:o wow, hope all will be well....
-
Hope the bill isn't anything Like Penny's was when she broke her leg. :o

Reminds me of a story of a dog that swallowed 27 'Feet' of chain. The owners got home and prepared his dinner. Turns out he couldn't get up off of the floor. When they tried to help him get up, they couldn't lift him. Off to the vet. The vet said that when dogs are swallowing something long, it get's past the point of vomiting it up, so they just keep swallowing.
Sorry Theo, that must have been very uncomfortable

Its under 4 grand right now but its worth it for your best friend :)
-
I feel for you.

Co-worker had a dog that swallowed a rope knot toy and it did the same thing as far as being lodged. Surgery to remove. Expensive!

. He was supposed to be at k state for 3 to 4 days.the called this afternoon said he was spoiled rotten wouldn't eat for them would stand up to walk on leash and lay down and not move. Nipping at the help but not in mean way just plain bull Headed. Drove 2 hours went in he ate for me walked with me and let me remove his bandage's. They ended up sending him home early with special instructions he's laying here in bed watching TV. But doing great

Good to hear Rrat!
This is the doofus side of Phoebe. She's so much fun, and she's my nap buddy.

Bed warmers!
Hilarious when they decide to jump in with us in the morning, there's usually a cat or 2 on there as well. ;D It's only a queen size bed too. :D

I'll have to get a pic of Phoebe on our bed. The minute hubs gets up to go to work, she's jumps up and we sleep another couple hours.
-
Well we took theo back up to get his stiches out today he has a clean bill of health. On down side since home we have had to give him peroxide to get up the dish towel that hangs on the stove and a sock he had swallowed guess he hasn't learned yet
-
Rrat, one of our dogs, a male, swallowed everything in sight. We'll never know if when he died if he had an assortment of stuff that wouldn't come out the other end.
Fortunately, our Katy and Phoebe, chew on lots of stuff but to my knowledge has never swallowed anything.
Wonder if it's a male dog thing...?
-
only dane out of the 4 we have had that did this. Not sure what his plan is in doing it
-
How do you do the peroxide thing to get them to up chuck?
