what is the best way that admin would recommend posting photos. i tried to insert some photos from photo bucket, too large, and will have to resize them. i tried using bb code to resize but defining size didn't work? i did not try uploading from my pc, thought maybe i would have to resize these as well?
thanks! :D
-
I made a few changes. Try it again and see if It is any different.

i tried iddee, thanks, just trying to post from photobucket with some bb code to resize, maybe i am not 'writing' the correct code, i still couldn't resize the photo with code.
-
Check Blueblood's pics under general beekeeping. I don't think you need to resize them.
-
that's funny iddee, i think bb's pix are the ones you commented on about being resized.......that's how mine would look from photobucket.....
i think you meant zookeeps......? :D
-
ps iddee, i just resized the photos on photobucket and then inserted the url for them for a post......
you will get it ironed out, i know you will! :D

I "halved" mine and they were still a bit big. Is there an application on the forum for activating thumbnail display I wonder?
-
I made some changes. You may have thumbnails, you may not have pics. I don't know what I'm doing.

test for pics
after uploading from the browser I used the "place inline" button. If you are adding captions above/below your pics this is the option to use since you can manually place your pic where you are wanting it.

more testing.........same pic different entry method
after uploading from browser, just clicked on submit. this gives you the ring around your pic and displays "attachments".
If you are adding a caption above/under your pics this is not the option to choose, your pis will always be posted in order at the bottom of the page.

Iddee I think you are on to it. The pic I posted is huge, 2576 x 1932 and 0.98 Mb. It made a nice large thumb nail and was able to click on it to bring it up to size.

"this is one I was trying to make my avatar, it is 90 x 63 and 165 Kb"
g, your avatar can only be 100 x 100 pixels or 146.48 kilobytes......so you need to resize it, or compress the photo. your kbs exceed the allowed kilobytes even though your pixels are within the allowed limit. did i make sense? :D
-
Yes makes perfect sense. Just do not know how to compress them. Like I said my camera is set for very high resolution meaning there is a high pixel count, great for zooming in and seeing details, but crappy for posting small pics.
-
g, pm me, give me your personal email, i will resize/compress your photo to avatar size and send it back to ya! :D
i have a photo program that does this.... :D
-
I can't get any photo I have small enough. Bummer.
-
Hey Bama.
I use photobucket here for mine, and no problem. I haven't figured out how to direct link yet.

OK I think I may have figured it out. Use the box below the message one and use that one to browse and select your pic and then click Place inline.
