I've bought several queens from Wilbanks in the past and was always impressed. They've always been prolific layers and very gentle. This year I decided to try a few packages from them. I hived 30 packages that I picked up from them Saturday. I looked in on them this afternoon and every queen has been released, most of the feed was gone and there is comb on about half the frames. I was plenty surprised that they had made so much progress in 3 days.
I tried a few packages in the past from other suppliers. Some good, some not so good. These are impressive so far.

Nice..I been trying to sweet talk my bees in to drawing some comb but they want listen. :-X glad there working out for ya. If you haven't had a problem with any of the thirty packages that is impressive.

I am good friends with Tim Wilbanks.. He has promised me a trip down to see his dads operation one of these springs... I told him I didn't want to visit, I wanted to be put to work. He said his dad loves free help and might work me to death.. I hope so, that would be a total blast!
PS; the abandoned Wife Ted and I talked about in another thread was Tim's wife Sarah. TIm got caught up with a late shipment of bees so Ted and I ran over to help her distribute the packages. i havent met Reg yet, but TIm and Sarah are GOOD folks!

I think I met Tim Saturday. Young, clean cut guy. I couldn't quite make out his name but I think it may have been Tim. I have a little trouble hearing clearly when there's a lot of background noise. Too many years shooting and working without ear protection. I spoke with a young lady named Lori several times on the phone. She seems to be good people. I have nothing but good stuff to say about Mr Wilbanks and his staff.
