Title: "Red Hot" afterswarm!
Post by: Perry on July 13, 2017, 04:33:09 pm
Got a call from a fellow who said there was a swarm hanging off the side of his building along the commercial strip in New Minas. Turns out it was only a block away from the big "early" swarm I caught just a couple days ago. I asked for the address which he gave me and he told me to just go inside the store in the building and the lady running the store would show me where the swarm was.
Now here's the funny part, the store is called "Sister Sarah's", and it is an Adult toy and gift shop! :o :D :P 8)
So in I go  ;D and the lady there was great and showed me where the bees were. She asked all kinds of questions and even took a few pics.
The swarm was not all that big (thinking afterswarm maybe?), but they had plenty of comb well under way. Surprising that they hadn't moved into the return given there were holes everywhere they could have gone into (maybe it was too small?).

It is a rare thing up here, but I did catch this one last year on November 3rd! I did what I could to get it through winter but it didn't make it.

My question is similar:
Perry is that the first sex toy shop you have encountered that far North?

It would have been perfect if you had walked into said shop with your beesuit on and 3 or 4 bees on the veil.

That Would Have Made A Buzz  :D

The only thing I thought of after I left was that my truck was the only vehicle parked at the store for the time I was there, and I hadn't really thought about how that would have looked! :o

Maybe he was in there to rub some drone bellys:

Seducing a honeybee drone – one of the males in a colony whose only job is to mate with the queen – is not too difficult. They don't have stingers, so you just pick one up. Apply a little pressure to the abdomen and the drone gets randy, blood rushing to his endophallus, bringing him to climax.

Okay Perry, I've figured out the scenario for the next swarm that lands on this building.

So, regardless of how many cars are in the parking lot, just don't come out of the building putting pressure on your abdomen.

Perry .... I hope no one from the Farmers Market saw you calling.

You may need to have your pictures and story ready.  ;D
