Title: Meadowsweet
Post by: Kathi on August 08, 2017, 07:56:05 am
Hi,

Just a general question on Meadowsweet which is abundant in my area right now.  Does anyone have any experience with it as a nectar and/or pollen source?  My bees have a preference for it and I'm wondering what to expect.  Thanks, Kathi

Welcome from me as well, glad you found us. :welcome:
Not too sure about Meadowsweet myself, but if the bees like it I'm happy.

Welcome, Kathi!
The only info I could find on Meadowsweet it that originates in Europe, it's naturalized here, and honey bees utilize the nectar and pollen.  I also found that this herb has a lot of medicinal properties, which is one of the reasons Europeans brought it with them when they migrated to North America.   Not exactly the information you were looking for, so I hope someone near you adds to the discussion.
