Well, the bees have cleaned up most of the supers and I brought almost all of them inside. I spread plastic on the floor and decided to stack them like I saw in a picture in another thread (thanks to those that contribute and post pics, we all learn new stuff because of it). It takes up a lot more space, but I think the wax moth issue has been solved.

I then loaded up the wax melter (after removing the jiggle knife and mounting the bonnet) and fired it up. This will end up being an all day affair at the least. I will then run the wax into empty 2 liter milk jugs.

The 3 tanks are all but full:

And my bottler:

The rest is already packaged, this is just one pile, :D I had a decent year and am thankful for it.

That's wonderful. I am sure you are glad that chore is done. :goodjob:

WOW, how do ya do it.

Perry,
I was wondering, did the jiggle knife speed things up?
-
It did in the beginning when all the frames were nice and full, but as the season ended and frames came in half capped or less it didn't, there was still a lot of scratching had to be done. The big bonus with the jiggle knife is that it returns all the frames to a nice "standard" thickness, no trying to jam fat comb back into boxes. For the money it is a good investment in my opinion. The next step up really, is a Maxant chain flail uncapper that does one frame at a time and they are over 2 grand. :o

Seems like yesterday we were making a case for you to buy that place. This year may pay for it. At least you were prepared for a good year. ;D

Glad to hear you had some good luck this year Perry.
Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. 8)

Always impressed with how tidy your operation is Perry ;) 8)

I am so impressed, glad you had a good year!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement I have received over the years.
What I have been able to accomplish is not all that remarkable however. I think many of you forget that this is all that I do, no other job, etc. I devote most of my waking day indulging myself with this endeavor/passion and have little doubt that most of you would be able to do the same thing given the same circumstances.

Nicely put, straight from your heart ;) 8)

I'm not replying to Perry's threads anymore, I am too jealous to be civil.
