I watched a Christmas episode of Alaska The last Frontier on Christmas eve.  They were exchanging home made gifts.  Charlotte, Otto's wife, is a bee keeper and she was shown getting her honey from her secret stash.  She said she had to hide it from Otto so that she would have enough to last the year.  For Christmas, she gave him his own quart jar of honey.  It had to be fireweed honey because it was so white and clear. She had several jars varying in different shade of gold.
